The Nuova Riveduta (meaning "Newly Revised") version of the Bible is the most widely used Italian version of the Bible among Evangelic and Protestant Christians. It was first published in 1994 by the Società Biblica di Ginevra (Geneva Biblical Society) and is a revised version of the Bibbia Riverduta (Revised Bible), produced by Giovanni Luzzi in the 1920's which, in its part, is a revised version of the Italian translation made by Giovanni Diodati in the 17th century. One of the most important features of this version is the fact that it goes along with the evolution of the Italian language.
